Khartoum: Rhino – The Rapid Support Forces condemned on Monday the Sudanese army’s destruction of the Halfaya Bridge linking the cities of Khartoum Bahri and Omdurman, describing the incident as a terrorist sabotage behavior, and called on regional and international organizations to monitor and document what they considered full-fledged war crimes against the country’s infrastructure.<\/span><\/h1>\n

The RSF said in a statement on Monday: “Al-Burhan’s militia and the Islamic Movement terrorist brigades sought to use “foreign mercenary” experts to help them destroy the Halfaya Bridge to hinder the advance and attack of our forces – this morning – on the Wadi Sidna area, but if they succeeded today in destroying the bridge, they will not survive tomorrow from the pursuit of our forces who will chase them wherever they are to relieve our people from their evils.<\/span><\/h1>\n

\u00a0In continuation of its approach to destroying public and private facilities and after the continuous defeats it has suffered, Al-Burhan’s militia and the brigades of the Islamic Movement, disguised as the armed forces, destroyed this morning the Halfaya Bridge linking the northern cities of Khartoum Bahri and Omdurman, which is the same method it used before in destroying Shambat Bridge, Al-Jili oil refinery, and its desperate attempt to destroy the Jabal al-Awliya reservoir), the statement said.<\/span><\/h1>\n

The statement continued: “To cover up their crime, the Burhan militias were quick to blame our forces for their crime in a failed and exposed attempt to divert attention and cover up their continuous defeats, most recently the liberation of the 17th Division of Sinja and the presidency of Sennar State.<\/span><\/h1>\n

In its statement, the RSF pledged to end the war for the benefit of the people, and to build Sudan on new and just foundations that lift injustice and marginalization from all Sudanese peoples and achieve justice and equality.<\/span><\/h1>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
