It noted that this support, according to reliable reports and testimonies in its possession, directly contributes to prolonging the war and complicating efforts to reach a comprehensive humanitarian ceasefire.<\/span><\/h1>\n<h1 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;\">The Observatory revealed that it had obtained visual footage showing the transport of military equipment and vehicles through channels linked to external support, including a video documenting logistical support operations involving military vehicles and equipment, which underscores the need for an independent and transparent international investigation into the nature of this support, its routes, and its impact on the deteriorating humanitarian situation in Sudan, according to the Observatory.<\/span><\/h1>\n<h1 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;\">The Observatory added in a statement today: \u201cThe continued flow of military support to any party to the conflict, in light of the widespread violations affecting civilians, constitutes a clear violation of international humanitarian law and undermines regional and international efforts aimed at ending the war and protecting the population\u201d<\/span><span style=\"font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\">.<\/span><\/h1>\n<h1 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;\">The Observatory emphasizes that providing weapons, equipment, or political and diplomatic cover to a party committing documented violations may amount to indirect participation in those violations and warrants accountability.<\/span><\/h1>\n<h1 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;\">The Observatory called on the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to immediately cease all forms of military, political, and diplomatic support for the Sudanese army and to uphold its international responsibilities to protect civilians and prevent the escalation of the conflict. <\/span><\/h1>\n<h1 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;\">It also calls on the international community to exert real and effective pressure to end the war, to enter into an urgent humanitarian ceasefire, to open safe corridors for those affected, and to form an independent international commission of inquiry to examine external support and its impact on the course of the conflict.<\/span><\/h1>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Rhino: Follow-up \u2013 The Sudanese National Human Rights Observatory has expressed its deep concern and condemnation of the continued political, military, and diplomatic support provided by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to the Sudanese military, at a time when grave violations against civilians are escalating in various regions of the country.
