The organization confirmed that the security situation \u201cremains tense and volatile,\u201d noting that it continues to closely monitor developments on the ground.<\/span><\/h1>\n<h1 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;\">It added that its field teams documented 109 incidents that triggered waves of displacement within the Kordofan region between October 25, 2025, and June 23, 2026, noting a sharp increase in the number of displaced people who left the region for other states compared to late February of this year.<\/span><\/h1>\n<h1 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;\">According to the latest data from the International Organization for Migration, the number of displaced persons from the three Kordofan states reached 219,319, distributed across 1,012 sites in 89 localities throughout 14 Sudanese states.<\/span><\/h1>\n<h1 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;\">Meanwhile, Tom Fletcher, the UN Under-Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs and Emergency Relief Coordinator, warned that the escalation of hostilities in North Kordofan State threatens the lives of civilians and makes it increasingly difficult to deliver humanitarian aid, calling on all parties to the conflict to respect international humanitarian law and ensure the protection of civilians and humanitarian workers.<\/span><\/h1>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Raino: Agencies The United Nations and the International Organization for Migration have warned of a worsening humanitarian situation in the Kordofan region, as military operations continue and waves of displacement expand, amid warnings that the city of El Obeid could become a new epicenter of the humanitarian crisis in Sudan.
