{"id":27997,"date":"2025-09-16T19:57:07","date_gmt":"2025-09-16T17:57:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/rhinosd.net\/?p=27997"},"modified":"2025-09-16T19:57:07","modified_gmt":"2025-09-16T17:57:07","slug":"call-for-accountability-african-and-international-organizations-expose-serious-crimes-committed-by-the-sudanese-army","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/rhinosd.net\/?p=27997&lang=en","title":{"rendered":"Call for accountability: African and international organizations expose serious crimes committed by the Sudanese army"},"content":{"rendered":"<h1 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;\">Rhino: Agencies<\/span><\/h1>\n<h1 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;\">Six African and international non-governmental organizations, in addition to four Sudanese and international coalitions comprising more than 35 organizations, have exposed a series of serious crimes committed by the Sudanese army and its allied militias.<\/span><\/h1>\n<h1 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;\">The revelations came during the 60th session of the United Nations Human Rights Council, held in Geneva from September 8 to October 8, where the organizations made direct accusations of systematic violations against unarmed civilians in various regions of Sudan.<\/span><\/h1>\n<h1 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;\">These accusations were presented in 19 official statements, which were distributed to member states and participants and published on the Council&#8217;s official website, with the aim of informing the world of the tragic reality and calling for urgent action to stop the violations and hold the perpetrators accountable.<\/span><\/h1>\n<h1 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;\">The six organizations have special consultative status with the United Nations Economic and Social Council and include: the International African Culture Organization, the Victorious Youth Movement, the One Child One Bag Association in Burkina Faso, the African Unity Association, the African Coordination Organization for Human Rights in the Armed Forces, and Zero Poverty in Africa.<\/span><\/h1>\n<h1 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;\">The statements were supported by four major coalitions: the New Sudan Organizations Union, the Sudanese Human Rights Organizations Coalition, the Youth for the Future Coalition, and the Euro-Mediterranean Coalition Against Impunity.<\/span><\/h1>\n<h1 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;\">The statements focused on serious violations that constitute war crimes and crimes against humanity, based on independent field reports and live testimonies from doctors and eyewitnesses.
