According to the office of State Department spokesperson Tami Bruce, Deputy Secretary of State Christopher Landau and Senior Advisor for African Affairs Masad Pauls held a meeting on the ongoing conflict in Sudan with ambassadors from the Quartet to the United States, including UAE Ambassador Yousef Al Otaiba, Saudi Arabia Ambassador Reema bint Bandar Al Saud, and Egypt Ambassador Moataz Zahran.<\/span><\/h1>\n<h1 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;\">Deputy Secretary Lando noted that the conflict in Sudan threatens shared interests in the region and has caused a humanitarian crisis. He also emphasized the US&#8217;s conviction that the conflict cannot be ended by military means, pointing to the need for the Quartet to persuade the warring parties to cease hostilities and negotiate a solution.
