Rhino: The Sudanese Ministry of Health announced on Thursday that the death toll from the cholera epidemic has risen to 1,187, while the number of infections has risen to more than 43,000, mostly among displaced people.<\/span>
\nThe ministry added in a statement that 221 new cases were recorded, bringing the total number of cases to more than 43,000.<\/span><\/h1>\n

The cholera epidemic intervention report indicated that most of the cases were recorded among those displaced from their areas due to the ongoing violence and fighting in the country, while the rate is stabilizing in isolation centers in a number of Sudanese states.<\/span><\/h1>\n

As of mid-September, more than 8,457 cases have been recorded, and the epidemic has caused the death of 299 people in eight different Sudanese states.<\/span><\/h1>\n

For its part, the Sudan Doctors Syndicate warned of the outbreak of other diseases in addition to cholera, such as waterborne diseases and malaria among displaced people in the eastern states of Gedaref and Gezira, as well as the spread of dengue fever, measles and malaria, in addition to the spread of dengue fever, measles and malaria.<\/span><\/h1>\n

The cholera epidemic in Sudan has worsened alarmingly since the middle of this year 2024, as the Ministry of Health officially announced the outbreak of the disease on August 12, 2024, following a new wave of infections after its first signs appeared on July 22.<\/span><\/h1>\n

According to specialists, the reason for the spread of cholera is due to the torrential torrential rains that the country witnessed, which created a fertile environment for the spread of the disease, coinciding with the disruption of most medical facilities and health services due to the war.<\/span><\/h1>\n
