Rhino: Agencies – The UN Security Council will vote later on Monday on a US-drafted draft resolution supporting a proposal by US President Joe Biden for a ceasefire between Israel and the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) in the Gaza Strip.
The US finalised the draft resolution on Sunday after six days of negotiations among the 15-member council. It is not yet clear whether Russia and China will allow the draft to pass.
A resolution needs the approval of at least nine members and no vetoes from the US, France, Britain, China or Russia.
