10 notable absences from the Euro final

Rhino: Agencies – The Euro 2024 quarterfinals, which kick off on Saturday, will be missing 10 players due to suspension after receiving two yellow cards in the group stage.

Germany will be without the services of defender Jonathan Tah in their clash with Denmark, having received yellow cards against Scotland and Switzerland.

Italian defender Riccardo Calafiori, who picked up yellow cards against Albania and Croatia, will miss Saturday’s semi-final against Switzerland.

This is a major blow for the Azzurri, as he is one of the pillars of the Azzurri’s defence, as he has been an eye-catcher at the Euros, and scored the deadly equalizer against Croatia that gave his side a ticket to the next round.

Denmark will be without star midfielder Morten Hoilemand, who was yellow carded against Slovenia and Serbia, and who scored the equalizer in the 1-1 draw against England in the second round.

Slovenia made history by advancing past the group stage of a major tournament for the first time in their history and will face Portugal on 1 July but will be without the services of left-back Erik Janza for that match.

After receiving yellow cards against Serbia and England, Slovenia will be without a key weapon after he scored the equalizer against Denmark (1-1) in the first round.

Switzerland will be without midfielder Sylvain Widmer, who picked up yellow cards against Hungary and Germany.

Austria shocked everyone by topping their group, which included the French and Dutch giants as well as Poland, to face Turkey in the last eight, but will be without the services of defender Patrick Wimmer, who received a yellow card against Poland and the Netherlands.

Romania, who also managed to qualify for the semi-finals at the top of their group at the expense of Belgium, will face the Netherlands in the semi-finals, but will be without left-back Nicosor Bancu, who was yellow carded against Belgium and Slovakia.

In one of the most violent matches in the history of the Euros, Turkey and the Czech Republic were yellow-carded 18 times in a 2-1 win for Vincenzo Montella’s side.

Thus, it was natural for Turkey to suffer from suspensions in the last eight against Austria, as captain Hakan Çalhanoglu, who opened the scoring for his country against Georgia and the Czech Republic, will be absent after receiving a yellow card against Georgia and the Czech Republic.

Turkey will also be without Samet Akaydin, who received a yellow card against Portugal and the Czech Republic, and who made a critical error against Portugal in returning the ball to the goalkeeper, which ultimately led to an own goal.
