E U imposes sanctions on the Sudanese army and its air force command

Rhino: Agencies – The European Union announced on Monday the imposition of sanctions on the Sudanese army and its air force command. The sanctions targeted the general manager of the Defence Industry System (DIS), a company already on the EU sanctions list, and the commander of the Sudanese Air Force “Al-Tahir Mohamed Al-Awad Al-Amin”, for their responsibility for indiscriminate aerial bombardment and the bombing of densely populated residential areas since the beginning of the conflict, and included a leader in the Muslim Brotherhood and Islamic movement “Ali Ahmed Karti Mohamed”, former foreign minister in the ousted government of Al-Bashir.

Those targeted are subject to an asset freeze, a ban on providing funds or economic resources to them directly or indirectly, as well as a travel ban in EU countries.
