Rhino: Agencies – The Portuguese national team swept aside its Turkish counterpart with a clean hat-trick in the second round of the group stage of Euro 2024.

Bernardo Silva (21st minute), Samet Akaydin (28th) and Bruno Fernandes (56th) scored Portugal’s hat-trick.

With this victory, Portugal topped the Group G table with 6 points and officially qualified for the round of 16 of the tournaments, while Turkey remains in second place with 3 points and will wait for the last round to determine their qualification.

Bernardo Silva put Portugal in front after 21 minutes, after an attack started by Liao on the left wing to pass to Nuno Mendes, who sent a cross that touched the defence to set up Bernardo in front of the goal and he shot into the net.

In the 28th minute, Portugal doubled their lead when Samet Akayden scored an own goal after a bad mistake on the return of the ball to his goalkeeper in front of the goal, and the ball found the back of the net.

In the 56th minute, Vettinha played a perfect long ball that the defiance failed to clear and Cristiano was alone in front of goal, but he preferred to pass the ball to his teammate Bruno to put the ball in the net with ease.

In the second half, the Turkish national team failed to make a convincing appearance amidst a tight defence and the Portuguese counter-attack, ending the match with a 3-0 victory for Ronaldo’s side.
