Rapid Support Forces announce their control of Al-Foula, the capital of West Kordofan State

El Foula: Rhino – Agencies – The Rapid Support Forces announced today, Thursday, their control over the city of Al-Foula, the capital of West Kordofan State, and published through their social media accounts videos showing the presence of their forces inside the headquarters of the state government and inside the army headquarters in the city.

Al-Foula is one of the largest cities in Kordofan region and has been the capital of West Kordofan state since 2013, with the majority of its population being from the Misseriya tribe.

According to eyewitnesses, the RSF began attacking the city on Wednesday, using light and heavy weapons to penetrate into the city, until this morning they managed to capture the headquarters of the army’s 19th Brigade and the headquarters of the state government.

The RSF’s capture of al-Foula poses a threat to the city of Babanusa in West Kordofan state, which has withstood months of RSF attacks to capture it.
