Rhino: Agencies – UEFA President, Slovenian Aleksander Ceferin, praised Germany’s exceptional infrastructure for organizing the “eagerly awaited” UEFA EURO 2024.
In a statement on UEFA’s website, Ceferin noted the “incredible interest” in UEFA EURO 2024, with 50 million tickets already ordered “in just two sales periods” last year and a “record-breaking” 146,000 volunteer applications.
“It is indicative of the enormous enthusiasm for this global event” that “Germany has exceptional infrastructure, including state-of-the-art stadiums” and “promises a seamless and enjoyable experience for players, referees and fans alike, making it the ideal host for Euro 2024,” Mr Ceferin noted.
Bernd Neuendorf, President of the German Football Association (DFB), noted that his country will return to organize a nationwide European Championship after 36 years; “the country was divided” in 1988.
Neuendorf said: “A united Germany is eagerly awaiting this tournament, whose exciting matches attract fans from all over the world. “Euro 2024 will prove once again that Germany is a nation that loves football.
Neuendorf emphasized that “UEFA EURO 2024 will have a long-term impact”, “not only because the high-level matches and unique atmosphere will leave unforgettable memories”, but also because it will set “clear priorities in the field of sustainability and promote grassroots football through various events and projects”.
