Civilian Casualties as Army Targets East Darfur State with Drones

Khartoum: Rhino – Army forces launched drone strikes on Sunday against cities in East Darfur State. Army forces targeted civilian areas in the city of Al-Da’ein and the Dar al-Salam area in the Abu Krinka locality of East Darfur State using drones, resulting in dozens of civilian casualties, including both dead and wounded.

The Sudan Founding Alliance condemned what it described as “the continued attacks on civilians amid shameful local and international silence regarding the ongoing killing and direct targeting of civilians,” adding in a statement today: “We affirm that we will not be drawn into targeting Sudanese civilians in their villages and cities, no matter how much these criminals try to drag us into such acts. Their crimes will not succeed in fueling racism or hatred among the Sudanese people.”

The coalition pledged to confront and combat racist and hateful rhetoric among Sudanese, adding: “We will continue our struggle to liberate our beloved Sudan from these criminal terrorist groups. We also affirm our full right to respond to these attacks, and that we will seek justice for the martyrs. Not a single drop of Sudanese blood will be shed in vain.”
