Khartoum: Rhino – The Sudan Constitutional Alliance announced its full readiness to cooperate, and its desire to engage in open dialogue with the U.S. administration and political circles, particularly the U.S. Congress, regarding the situation in Sudan, the repercussions of the armed conflict, its impact on peace and stability in the region, and the resulting consequences both within Sudan and beyond, in reference to the report issued by the U.S. House of Representatives Foreign Affairs Committee.
In a statement issued today, the Alliance emphasized that peace, stability, and a smooth transition toward democratic civilian rule depend on ending the war through a comprehensive political settlement, which cannot be achieved while the Islamic Movement controls political and military decision-making within the Islamist government front in Port Sudan.
It added: “This organization, which returned to power by igniting the war after being overthrown by the popular revolution in December 2018, continues to dominate the administration of public affairs, controls the civil service and diplomatic operations, holds political and military decision-making authority, and directs the course of military operations and daily developments of the war, manages operations rooms, controls specialized and prohibited weapons, and commands battalions and militias. Furthermore, the organization’s cadres and various media fronts work to manipulate public opinion, spread disinformation, fabricate lies, and cover up their crimes by producing false narratives).
The statement read: “The continued control of the Muslim Brotherhood over the fate of the Sudanese people means the absence of any secure future and deprives the country and the region of peace and stability. The experience of the Salvation regime is not far behind, as this organization continues to reject all proposed peace initiatives and platforms, and uses war as a means to survive and maintain its control and domination over the fate of the Sudanese people).
The Sudan Founding Alliance warned against the ongoing attempts led by the Foreign Ministry of the Port Sudan Authority to distort and misrepresent what has been stated in reports and discussions within the U.S. Congress, and to present misleading narratives to regional and international public opinion with the aim of covering up the reality of the Sudanese crisis, and to absolve the Islamic Movement of responsibility for igniting and prolonging the war.
The Alliance reiterated its assertion that the Foreign Ministry of the Port Sudan Authority is nothing more than the external front for the Muslim Brotherhood in Sudan, and that its foreign moves, activities, and political statements are all attempts to advance the policies of the Islamic organization in Sudan, promote its agenda, and polish its image abroad.
