Rhino: The Coordination of Civil Democratic Forces (TAGADOM) said that the statements of Assistant Army Commander Yasser al-Atta calling for giving Russia a naval base will harm Sudan’s national security, according to the Coordination of Civil Democratic Forces (TAGADOM).
In press statements, Taqaddam spokesman Bakri al-Jak said that the policy of mortgaging Sudanese lands in exchange for weapons is not new and does not work.
He emphasized that the army’s move towards Russia is a repeat of the experience of ousted President Omar al-Bashir when he visited Russia in 2017 to seek protection.
Al-Atta revealed in statements to Al-Hadath TV that the army will sign agreements with Russia, adding: ‘I personally don’t mind giving Russia a naval base.
The Progress spokesperson questioned who authorized Al-Atta, warning that such a move would push the country into the arena of international disputes, adding: ‘Sudan is far from such matters.
