Taqaddum proposes the formation of a civilian mechanism to deliver humanitarian aids

Addis Ababa: Rhino – The Coordination of Civil Democratic Forces (Taqaddam) proposed on Tuesday the formation of a civilian mechanism for the delivery of relief, in order to overcome the difficulties of providing relief to millions of Sudanese people.

Members of Taqaddam discussed a paper on humanitarian issues in light of the 15 April war, as part of its founding conference in the Ethiopian capital Addis Ababa, which continues until the end of the week.

The paper proposed the formation of a civilian mechanism for the delivery of aid consisting of local actors in the field of humanitarian aid, whether in non-governmental organizations, emergency rooms, popular initiatives, Sufi orders and civil administrations.

It pointed out that the humanitarian aid file faces obstacles, including the authorities’ intransigence in granting visas and work permits to organizations, as well as delaying their registration and re-registration, especially those established during the transition period.
