Barcelona reach an agreement with Xavi’s successor

Rhino: Agencies – FC Barcelona management has reached an agreement with a veteran coach to take over the technical leadership of the team starting from the new season.
Xavi Hernandez is expected to leave the Catalan club at the end of the season, after the clash and statements he made about leading Barça under Barça president Juan Laporta.
According to the Catalan newspaper ‘Sport’, Barcelona has settled on the signing of German Hans Flick, the former technical director of Bayern Munich and the German national team.
The newspaper added that the Barcelona management managed to agree with Fleck on a two-year contract with an extension option, to take over the reins as of 30 June next year.
She stressed that Fleck is convinced and has the desire to lead a long-term project, adding that everyone is waiting for the departure of Xavi, which is supposed to happen in a few days. She pointed out that last Wednesday, a meeting between Barcelona’s sports directors and the coach himself (Fleck) and his agent Benny Zahavi, explaining that the two parties reached a full agreement.
She explained that in terms of the duration of the contract, they agreed to sign Fleck for two years, that is, until the end of Laporta’s presidency, but the door will remain open to a future extension of the contract.
She concluded that Fleck fully understands Barcelona’s economic situation and will arrive at the club with acceptable amounts that include a relatively low rate in terms of salary, and large prizes if he wins titles.
