Rhino: Agencies – Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi told the Arab summit in the Bahraini capital Manama on Thursday that Israel continues to evade efforts aimed at a ceasefire in its war with the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) in Gaza.

He added that Israel continues its military operations in the Rafah border town between Egypt and Gaza and uses the Palestinian side of the Rafah border crossing to tighten the siege on the Gaza Strip.

Israel and Egypt have traded blame for the closure of the crossing, which is a vital route for aid to the Gaza Strip, where the humanitarian crisis has worsened and some residents are at risk of starvation.

‘We found that Israel continues to evade its responsibilities and prevaricate about the efforts to cease fire,’ al-Sisi said.

‘I emphasize that anyone who imagines that security and military solutions are capable of securing interests or achieving security is delusional,’ Sisi said.
