El Helou: Sudan is witnessing the worst humanitarian catastrophe due to Islamists war

Rhino: Agencies – The head of the People’s Movement-North (PMN), Commander Abdel Aziz al-Hilu, said on Thursday that stopping the 15 April war in Sudan and preserving the unity of what is left of it after the secession of the South requires addressing the roots of the Sudanese crisis and reaching a social contract that answers the question of how Sudan is governed, not who governs Sudan.

In a speech on the occasion of the 41st anniversary of the founding of the Sudan People’s Liberation Army (SPLA), Helou said: ‘This is the 41st anniversary of the founding of one of the movements of the revolutionary armed liberation struggle in Sudan, and our country is witnessing the worst humanitarian disaster in its history due to the war of the Islamists against the Sudanese people.’

‘Sudanese today are living in a state of statelessness due to the absence of its institutions, starting with the failure of the security services to provide security and extend the rule of law to all parts of the country, as well as the collapse of the economy, the increase in displacement and forced migration at unprecedented levels globally, and the looming prospects of disintegration and Somatization.
