Manchester City’s quadruple win tightens the noose on Arsenal

Rhino: Agencies – Manchester City secured a 4-0 victory over Brighton on Thursday, in a postponed match of the 34th round of the Premier League.

City raised their tally to 76 points in second place, a point behind leaders Arsenal, knowing that Pep Guardiola’s team has a postponed match.

On the other hand, Brighton’s tally stood at 44 points in eleventh place in the Premier League table.

Manchester City took the lead in the 17th minute through Kevin De Bruyne, before Phil Foden added a second goal in the 26th minute.

In the 34th minute, Foden scored his second goal and City’s third, while Julian Alvarez added a fourth in the 62nd minute.

Brighton came close to an honorable goal in the 84th minute, when substitute Igor set up Pedro, who shot from a comfortable position at the near post.

Manchester City came close to adding a fifth when Alvarez passed to Duku, who had the ball in his own half, but his effort was saved by Steele.
