A force from the Awakening Revolutionary Council joins the Rapid Support Forces in Darfur

Khartoum: Rhino – The Rapid Support Forces (RSF) announced on Wednesday that a force from the Revolutionary Awakening Council (RAC), led by Musa Hilal, has joined its ranks in Darfur.

The RSF released a video showing a number of soldiers confirming that they have renounced Hilal and joined the RSF.

One of the speakers in the video who announced joining the RSF said that they are not looking for money, but for a homeland, adding: “Whoever wants money, let him go to Burhan.

In a press conference, a number of leaders of the Mahamid tribe – a sub-tribe of the Rezeigat tribe – denounced Hilal’s statements in which he announced his alignment with the army and hinted at foreigners he said he would stand against, saying that Hilal “only represents himself”.

Prince Sanusi al-Tahir Karchoum said that the Mahamid have been greatly affected by the army’s war “which does not distinguish between unarmed citizens and the RSF,” pointing out that the army personnel have become “Daesh” and militant groups that kill innocent citizens on the basis of tribe. He added: “Our position is to fight this war with the RSF until its end without retreating, because it was imposed on us.
