Sudan Liberation Movement warns of spread of racist rhetoric and slide into civil war

Rhino: Khartoum, the spokesman for the Sudan Liberation Movement – Abdel Wahid Command (SLM-AW), Mohamed Abdel Rahman Al-Nayir, said on Tuesday that the April 15th war, despite the differences of opinion among Sudanese about it, is an extension of the previous conflicts with all their racial, political, cultural and social dimensions.

Al-Nayir said in an article published on Tuesday that despite the different actors in the current war theater, the enemy is one and the same: the “ideological army” that was created to protect the influence and privileges of the political elite who inherited power from the colonizer. This army fought against all the revolutionary liberation movements in Sudan and formed all the supporting militias with ethnic, religious, regional and local characteristics.

He added: “In light of the prevailing discourse of hatred, racism, ethnicity, regionalism and reckless mobilization that we see, and the performance of loyalty and obedience to those who were the cause of Sudan’s misery, and the pilgrimage to “Wadi Seydna” to show support for the “army of the remnants” will undoubtedly lead Sudan towards a comprehensive civil war.”
