Sudanese Army Airstrikes in El Fasher Kill 10 Civilians, Displacing Families

Rhino: El Fasher, Airstrikes carried out by the Sudanese army aircraft on Monday morning, in the cities of “El Fasher” and “Kutum” claimed the lives of 10 civilians from two families and injured more than 16 people.

The airstrikes also destroyed several residential homes, forcing residents of the Al-Wifaq and Al-Masani neighborhoods to flee their homes.

Local sources reported that the airstrikes targeted the Al-Wifaq, Al-Masani, and eastern Al-Wahda neighborhoods in El Fasher. Information on the extent of damage and casualties in “Kutum” remains unclear.

The Sudanese army’s airstrikes on “El Fasher” and “Kutum” have sparked outrage among the region’s residents, who condemned the attacks as war crimes.

Activists on social media platforms called for an independent investigation into these crimes, and for those responsible to be held accountable.

The Coordination of Resistance Committees of “El Fasher” warned that the continuation of these airstrikes, could lead to mass displacement of the population, and called on the international community to intervene, to protect civilians in Darfur.
