Sudan: Hamdok to Visit Cairo to Discuss Role of Egypt in Stopping War

Khartoum – March 5, 2024: An informed source within the Forces for Freedom and Change (FFC) coordination confirmed on Tuesday that the FFC’s chairman, former Prime Minister Dr. “Abdalla Hamdok”, will visit the Egyptian capital “Cairo” next week, to meet with the Egyptian government to discuss the role of Egypt in stopping the war in Sudan.

The source told “Radio Dabanga” on Tuesday, that the visit comes at the invitation of the Egyptian government, pointing to the importance of the Egyptian role in stopping the war in Sudan.

It is noteworthy that Egypt’s participation in the negotiations between the army and the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) in Manama, which resulted in an agreement that was not implemented, was an indication that Egyptian diplomacy has begun to move rapidly to resolve the Sudan crisis.
