Zain announces gradual return of services in Sudan

Khartoum: Zain Telecom announced the gradual return of its services in Sudan, after a disruption that lasted for more than three weeks.

The company said in a statement today that the return of service will cover the Northern, Red Sea, and Nile River states in the first phase, followed by the Kassala and Gedaref states.

The company confirmed that it is making efforts to restore service in the rest of the states.

Sudan had witnessed a complete disruption of telecommunications services during the past weeks, which exacerbated the suffering of citizens, amid the ongoing war in the country.

The gradual return of Zain’s services is considered a positive step towards alleviating the suffering of citizens and facilitating communication between them.

It is worth noting that the disruption of telecommunications services in Sudan was due to the ongoing conflict in the country, which caused extensive damage to the telecommunications infrastructure.

Zain Telecom hopes to be able to fully restore its services in all parts of Sudan as soon as possible.
