The Sudanese Embassy in Cairo prevents activists from meeting with Al-Burhan to discuss the situation of refugees

Rhino – Agencies: Sudanese embassy in Cairo on Thursday prevented a group of political activists, national figures and human rights defenders from handing over a request to Sudan ambassador in Cairo to meet Al-Burhan on his announced visit to Cairo on Thursday.

The memorandum includes a thanks to President Al-Sisi, the Egyptian government and the Egyptian people for their hospitality to Sudaneses.

The group asked the embassy to facilitate a meeting for a small delegation with Al-Burhan, as they were hoping that he could help in addressing the Egyptian government to release the Sudanese arrested in Egyptian prisons who entered after the war, under the pretext of violating the residence procedures, including children, women and youth.

The memorandum asks Al-Burhan to urge the Egyptian government to re-activate the “Four Freedoms” agreement, as it is still in valid and has not been cancelled. However, the ambassador and consul refused to meet with the delegation, receive the memo, or allow them to meet with Al-Burhan.
