East Darfur Association in the Diaspora condemns the army’s bombing of Al-Daein and demands an air embargo

The East Darfur State Association condemned on Sunday the bombing of civilians in the city of Al-Daein, the capital of East Darfur, last Tuesday, which resulted to the killing of eight people, including four from one family, two refugees from the Republic of South Sudan, and one from AlJunaynah, and another from South Darfur, while four civilians were injured. The bombing also ignited fires, leaving massive destruction to homes and property.

In a statement on Sunday, the association called for the prevention of planes and marches of the Sudanese army to fly around the skies of cities, camps for displaced persons and refugees and civilian housing communities.

The statement said: “It is necessary to prevent flying in areas where there is no appearance of military manifestations, in order to avoid the repeated violations practiced by the Sudanese army against innocent unarmed civilians with premeditation and surveillance, based on the statements of some army leaders such as Lieutenant “Yasser Al Atta”, who stated publicly and in front of his soldiers that the army will target what he called the incubators of the rebel militia means “Rapid Support” and target them in cities, villages, villages, valleys and al-Dwamer. With this statement confirms its commitment to commit these crimes and carry out more bombing and destruction of unarmed civilians and pursuing them wherever they are, despite the absence of any manifestations of the stationing of the Rapid Support Forces between these popular neighborhoods, Or near the folms or military headquarters”.

The statement continued: “Instead of the language of escalation of war, it must be stopped, and move towards a peaceful solution that is satisfactory to both parties, as well as full compliance with international and humanitarian laws that preserve the lives of civilians, their property, and their public service facilities”.
