Video: A demonstration in Al Kalakla (Southern of Khartoum) to demand cessation of the war and a Civil State

Al Kalakla – Rhino: Hundreds of citizens in Al Kalakla (Southern of Khartoum) demonstrated on Friday, demanding a cessation of the war and the establishment of a civil State in Sudan. The demonstrators chanted slogans “Enough, enough, the people have suffered,” and “No killing, no Albal (no for high pressure), Jeddah platform is the solution,” as referring to the need to sit down to negotiate between the warring parties in Sudan (the armed forces, and the Rapid Support Forces).

The demonstrators also chanted “Al Burhan! No killing, no to bombing by air,” and “This country belongs to us, our government is the Civil government”, in referring to the damage that affected citizens in Al Kalakla from the continued bombing by army aviation, which killed and wounded dozens of civilians.

One of speakers at the demonstration said that the current war is against Sudanese people, who seek to build the nation that are for all without racism, regionalism or tribalism. Also he called the conflicting parties to sit down to negotiate to end the war, “because who pays for it is the citizen, and the citizen is the most affected by war.”

He added: “We call on the United Nations, the friends and brothers of Sudan from neighboring countries, IGAD platform and Jeddah platform to work to stop the absurd war”.
