Military source to “Darfur 24”: Wadi Seidna Group planned to arrest army leaders, including AlBurhan

Rhino: Agencies – A senior Sudanese army officer said to “Darfur 24” news site: that the plan of “Wadi Seidna group”, which was arrested by military intelligence on Thursday – night in early February, following steps against the army leadership that were planned at dawn of Friday.

The source said that: the plan included three groups of “Wadi Seidna”, Al-Gheiada (The command area), Bahri, and Port Sudan” would move at dawn on Friday in conjunction, to arrest the leaders of these areas, including the commander-in-chief of the army “Abdul Fattah al-Burhan.”

He added: “On Thursday – night, the military intelligence in Wadi Seidna arrested Colonel Motasim Youssef Abdul Rahman, a commander of the reserve military mobile, Engineer Muhannad Ismail” from Sarkab military base and “Major Mustafa Hassan Qamar” from air defense forces.

According to the source, the technical investigations showed during the disclosure of the communications an officer with the rank of general in the General Command, in contact with the “Wadi Seidna group”.

The source also said that: was an officer with the rank of lieutenant colonel in the General Command who was in coordination with the group who led the dismantling of the cell. He referred that the griming and anger of army officers escalated sharply, following the fall of Al-Jazeera state last December.
