Rhino: The coordinator of United Nations Humanitarian in Darfur, Toby Howard on Friday warned from the consequences of renewed fighting within the past two weeks in Al-Fasher, the capital of North Darfur, which led to killed and injured many civilians, damaged infrastructure, and displacement of many civilians.
In a post on his account in “X” on Friday, Howard said: “the escalation of the conflict would be disastrous for the hundreds thousands of displaced people in Al-Fasher city.
He also referred that the United Nations in Sudan has received reports of huge recruitment of many children aged (11-17 years) in the armies of the main warring parties and other armed groups in Al-Fasher. He added: “The recruitment and use of children by the armed forces is a serious violation of both children’s rights and international humanitarian law”.
