Rhino: Follow-up – Two women were killed and 10 people sustained injuries of varying severity when an army Antonov aircraft targeted the Al-Kabjerk water station in North Kordofan, destroying the water tanks, pumps, and the solar panels powering them. The bombing sparked a fire in the Dar Bahar settlement.
On Tuesday morning, November 3, 2026, at 10:00 a.m., an Antonov aircraft belonging to the army targeted the station, located in the Um Badr area of the Sudri locality in North Kordofan State, using three-barrel bombs.
The Al-Kabjerk station is the second-most important source of water for the region’s residents, and its destruction exacerbates the water crisis and deprives many civilians of one of life’s most essential resources.
The Emergency Lawyers Group condemned the bombing of residential areas and the targeting of water sources in locations where there is no military presence. It noted that the attacks are part of an ongoing pattern of assaults on civilians, civilian objects, and the infrastructure essential to their survival, thereby exacerbating their humanitarian suffering, threatening their right to life and access to water, and driving further forced displacement.
The group called on the international community and regional and international organizations to condemn these attacks, exert effective pressure to halt the systematic violations against civilians and civilian objects, ensure the protection of water sources and essential services, hold those responsible for these violations accountable, and put an end to the continued targeting of the essentials of life in Sudan.
