Doctors Without Borders Condemns Drone Strike on a Crowded Market in South Darfur

Rhino: Follow-up – Doctors Without Borders said that at least four people, including a child, were killed Friday morning in a drone strike that targeted the livestock market in Nyala, South Darfur, Sudan.

The organization added in a statement that eight people were injured in the attack and are receiving care at the Ministry of Health’s Nyala Teaching Hospital, which is supported by Doctors Without Borders (MSF).

The statement explained that the market was attacked on the busiest day of the week, making civilian casualties inevitable.

Doctors Without Borders renewed its call on the military and all parties to the conflict to respect civilian lives and cease attacks on markets and other civilian areas. Civilians must be spared this horrific violence.
