Rhino: Agencies – The United Nations said on Friday that the Houthi group controlling northern Yemen has detained a number of its staff and that it has suspended its official movements in all areas under the group’s control and is seeking the immediate release of the detainees.

In a statement that did not disclose the number of detainees or any other details, the UN added that the incident occurred on Thursday in the capital, Sana’a.

The UN explained that the decision to suspend all movements was taken to ensure the safety of its staff and that it is in contact with senior Houthi officials to demand the immediate and unconditional release of all its staff and partners.
