TASIS Alliance Begins Practical Steps to Establish a Joint Military Command

Rhino: News Agencies – The spokesperson for the leadership body of the Sudan Founding Coalition “Tasis,” Ahmed Takad Lisan, said that the coalition has begun practical steps to establish a joint military command for its forces, and that the structural frameworks for the General Staff and the regulations governing the new structure have already been prepared, while the current force structures will remain in place temporarily before being gradually integrated.

Takad Lisan added, in an interview with “Sudan Story,” that the coalition will form a political mechanism to serve as a reference for any future negotiating delegation, emphasizing that participation in any peace process will be contingent upon the fulfillment of what he described as the “conditions and requirements” necessary for a credible process.

On the issue of education, he confirmed that the Sudan EduNet platform for checking high school diploma results is a government platform accredited by the “Government of Peace,” and that the data on it represents the official record of its Ministry of Education. He also revealed that contacts are underway with countries and universities to secure scholarships and admission opportunities for students with high school diplomas.

Regarding the decision of the fourth session of the Leadership Council concerning the establishment of a new national army, Takad said: “We are proceeding from our assessment of the existing Sudanese military institution. We view it as an institution that has been politicized, ideologized, and co-opted to serve the agenda of a political organization; therefore, we do not believe it represents the Sudanese people or constitutes a national army in the sense we intend. In contrast, we in the Founding Sudan Alliance have a large military force composed of multiple factions, and we have a political project to reestablish the Sudanese state on new foundations, including the military institution).

He added: “We know that establishing a permanent and definitive national army will take time, but that does not mean we should wait until all conditions are in place. Therefore, we have decided to begin immediately studying how to establish a national army based on new foundations. We have studied similar international experiences and the lessons learned from them, as well as what can be applied to the Sudanese context. As a first step, we have begun forming a joint military command body among the forces comprising the coalition and will then establish unified command and control and a unified military structure in phases to lead the coalition forces.”

He continued: “This is the first building block for establishing a new national army, with a national doctrine and a new combat doctrine, drawing on experiences from similar conflicts and adapting them to the Sudanese reality. This is a long-term project, but any serious project for the future must begin with an objective study, in-depth analysis, and the establishment of clear foundations. We are now in the early stages; the decision has been made, and implementation will begin gradually in the coming period).
