Peace Government Issues a Resolution Suspending Disposition of Lands and Public Spaces

Nyala: Rhino – The Council of Ministers of the Government of Peace issued Resolution No. (3) of 2026, pursuant to which it suspended the disposition of government lands and public spaces and annulled all procedures carried out in this regard since April 15, 2023.

The resolution mandates the immediate suspension of any disposition of government lands and public spaces—including sale, transfer, allocation, reallocation, leasing, and investment—as well as the prohibition of usufruct rights, changes in land use, planning, registration, the issuance of search certificates, or any other action that establishes a private right or benefit over such lands, until further notice.

The decree, signed by Prime Minister Muhammad Hassan al-Ta’ayashi, annulled all decisions, procedures, and actions taken from April 15, 2023, until the date of the decree’s issuance, and deemed those decisions, procedures, and actions null and void, confirming the annulment of all legal, administrative, and registration consequences arising therefrom.

It also ordered that all affected lands and areas be restored to their previous legal, planning, and registration status, with the competent authorities responsible for correcting the relevant records, maps, and plans accordingly.

The decision deemed any measure or action taken in violation of this decision to be null and void, with no legal, administrative, or registration consequences, without prejudice to the legal or administrative accountability of anyone involved in its issuance, approval, registration, or implementation.
