Sudanese Relief Agency Delivers 346 Metric Tons of Food to More Than 10,000 Families in West Darfur

El Geneina: Rhino – With the support of philanthropists, and as part of the efforts undertaken by the Transitional Peace Government, the Sudanese Relief and Humanitarian Operations Agency provided, between June 4 and 24, 2026, humanitarian aid amounting to 346 metric tons of food to 10,072 families of internally displaced persons and the most vulnerable groups in El Geneina, the capital of West Darfur State.

A total of 50,360 displaced persons and vulnerable families residing in 73 locations in El Geneina were targeted for assistance. Distribution took place at five main centers: “Um Duwin, Ardmata, Livestock – El Geneina North, Imam Al-Kazim, and Al-Shahid Abu Bakr,” in addition to neighborhoods and shelters in the city that are overcrowded with displaced persons.

The Sudanese agency carried out this response in collaboration with three national organizations—“Sudan United,” “Al-Masar Charitable Organization,” and “Al-Zayna Women’s Organization”—which effectively contributed to distributing aid to those eligible in accordance with humanitarian principles and in a manner that prioritized needs.

The distribution process was carried out based on field surveys that ensured the most vulnerable groups were targeted, covering approximately 24% of the total number of displaced and war-affected families—more than 42,000 households—residing in neighborhoods and shelters in El Geneina.

The beneficiaries expressed their appreciation for the humanitarian efforts made by the Transitional Peace Government, the Sudanese agency, and supporting partners to alleviate the suffering of those affected, affirming that the distribution process contributed to improving the living conditions of thousands of displaced and war-affected families in West Darfur State.
