Khartoum: Rhino – The Rapid Support Forces (RSF) warned today, Sunday, that the Sudanese army will arm civilians from the Jamawiya tribes in Omdurman and throw them into the war, saying in a statement today: “The Rapid Support Forces warns of the plan of the terrorist Islamic Movement to arm the citizens of the southern countryside of Omdurman city, and warns of attempts to throw the sons of the Jamawiya tribe into the war of ISIS terrorists, as part of an open plan to spread chaos and ignite civil strife, and to repeat the events of the villages of Al-Jazeera state.”

In its statement, the RSF pointed out that over the past two years, communication with the Jumu’aya tribe was carried out through the “six-man committee”, which signed an agreement in 2023 with the RSF command in Omdurman sector, adding: “It was a successful agreement that lasted for nearly two years, during which dozens of villages, markets and commercial rafts were protected, and there was excellent cooperation between the parties in all fields, including, for example, the Al-Jamweya Commercial Raft Committee led by Babiker Wad Al-Jabal Al-Saghir, head of the Chamber of Commerce. Under this agreement, the RSF and the Civil Administration implemented several projects, such as (takaya, electricity, water, protection of villages and neighborhoods), and the RSF did not enter all the villages of al-Jamouya, but prevented entry to the villages except with the approval of the civil committee of the group, and the RSF allowed the people of these villages to set up checkpoints by the people of al-Jamouya inside the villages and the main entrances.”

It continued: “In light of the recent events, the agreement was violated by the entry of elements of the Al-Baraa terrorist brigades to the southern countryside, the slaughter of people crossing the sea and the Jebel Awliya road to Omdurman, the deployment of snipers on rooftops, the appearance of hostile and inflammatory speech in videos, and the entry of terrorist brigade groups into villages and turning them into battlegrounds. In the context of this, we monitored practical steps represented by the arming of hundreds of members of the Jumu’aya tribe in a mobilization called for last Friday, April 4, in the “Hosh al-Khalifa” square in Omdurman, and witnessed the marketing of misleading lies in order to mobilize tribes and citizens.”

The statement reads: “We have been closely following the plans of the remnants of the old regime to arm citizens, and the continuous incitement to push them to the front lines, the most prominent witness to this is the crime of the jihadist brigades executing a number of innocent youth by shooting them in a hideous way inside the Nile water, and the ‘video’ of the unfortunate incident was circulated on the pages of senior officers of the Islamic Movement in the army.”

The RSF called on citizens, tribal leaders, and civil administrations across Sudan to “not be drawn behind the schemes of Al-Burhan’s militias and terrorist brigades, and to thwart their efforts to ignite strife between the components of the Sudanese people, leading to a comprehensive civil war, to cover their failures in the war they treacherously ignited on the morning of April 15, 2023.”

The statement continued: “Our forces affirm their full respect for the societal components throughout Sudan and call on tribal leaders and civil administrations to spare their children from the pitfalls of the remnant war, and to pay close attention to attempts to exploit and mobilize them with racist speeches and misleading information. We call on the RSF to intervene and prevent the area from slipping into a war zone and put an end to the security of the villages and the lives of their inhabitants. We reiterate our commitment to the RSF’s commitment to the security of the villages and the lives of their inhabitants. We reaffirm the commitment of our forces not to harm civilians, but on the other hand, they will not hesitate to deal decisively with the battalions of terrorists, mobilizers and warmongers, and will pursue them with all the power at their disposal to rid our people of their evils and end the era of injustice and tyranny, thus opening a new page in the history of our country: “Freedom, Peace, and Justice.”
