Musad Boulos: Trump Is Interested in Resolving the Sudan Crisis

Rhino: Agencies – Musad Boulos, the U.S. President’s advisor on Arab and African affairs, said that U.S. President Donald Trump is interested in resolving the Sudanese crisis, stressing that Sudan continues to face “the worst humanitarian crisis in the world.”

In a post on the “X” platform, Boulos explained that he discussed developments in the Sudanese crisis with Romaric Rouanien, Director of North African and Middle Eastern Affairs at the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

He noted that the two sides discussed efforts aimed at addressing the Sudanese crisis, pointing to U.S.-French cooperation at the Berlin Conference on Sudan and the joint statement of principles endorsed by the United States and France alongside 20 other countries and organizations.

Paul’s statement comes as the war in Sudan continues and international efforts to address the humanitarian crisis and support settlement efforts persist.

Since April 2023, Sudan has been embroiled in a war between the army and the Rapid Support Forces that has claimed tens of thousands of lives, forced some 4.5 million people to flee the country, and displaced nearly 13 million within its borders, in a humanitarian disaster described by the United Nations as the worst in the world.
