Rhino: Agencies – Sporting Lisbon coach Ruben Amorim, who next week will become Manchester United manager, said on Monday that veteran coach Jose Mourinho taught him that “everything can be won”.

“Mourinho taught me that you can win everything and become a different person than people think you are,” Amorim told a news conference ahead of Tuesday’s Champions League clash with Manchester City.

“He was a coach who opened doors for all of us, special in his era, and still is, but when he showed up we knew that his teams would win, and this is something important for us Portuguese, because we started to believe in ourselves more.”

Amorim will face Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City in the Champions League in his penultimate game with Sporting Lisbon before moving to Old Trafford.

The coach said he will face Man City with the same attacking style he plays in the Portuguese league in which he has won all his matches so far.
