Rhino: Agencies – Drones launched an attack on Khartoum Airport, east of the Sudanese capital Khartoum, on Sunday afternoon, coinciding with a series of attacks targeting sites near the army’s military zone in Omdurman, northwest of the capital.
Eyewitnesses in the Al-Amara and Burri neighborhoods of eastern Khartoum, near the airport, said they heard loud explosions and saw smoke rising from inside the airport, while an operations manager at one of the companies operating at the airport told Sky News Arabia that they were taken by surprise by the attack but managed to evacuate the staff.
He explained that “there were no casualties inside the airport, but the strikes were powerful, and some hit parts of the runways; we do not know the exact extent of the damage.”
