Hamdok: Berlin Conference Reflected a Sincere International Political Will to End the War in Sudan

Khartoum: Rhino – The Chairman of the Civil Democratic Alliance of Revolutionary Forces, former Prime Minister Dr. Abdullah Hamdok, said that the Berlin Conference on Sudan, which was held with the participation of regional and international countries and organizations, reflected a sincere international political will to stand in solidarity with the Sudanese people in their plight and to work to redouble efforts to put an end to this senseless war.

Hamdok added in a press statement on Thursday: “I extend my sincere thanks to our friendly nations: the Federal Republic of Germany, the United Kingdom, France, the United States, the African Union, and the European Union for hosting the Berlin Conference on Sudan on the third anniversary of the outbreak of this devastating war. I also thank the Quintet (the African Union, IGAD, the League of Arab States, the European Union, and the United Nations) for providing Sudanese civilian forces with the opportunity to consult and deliberate on ending the war and achieving sustainable peace in our country.

He continued: “Berlin provided an important opportunity for the world to hear the voices of Sudanese civilians committed to ending the suffering of our people and stopping the bloodshed in our country. Building on the spirit of Berlin and the international support it embodied, we will continue to work tirelessly until we, as civilian forces, reach an agreement on a political process and a Sudanese dialogue led by Sudanese themselves, aimed at achieving lasting peace, ending the suffering of our people, and restoring the democratic transition based on freedom, peace, and justice”.
