Khartoum: Rhino – The Civil Democratic Coalition of Revolutionary Forces “Sumud” has renewed its support for the Berlin Conference’s efforts to end the bloody conflict in Sudan, and all endeavors to bring peace to the country, affirming its active engagement in the Sudanese civil-political meeting convening as part of the Berlin Conference, and its commitment to working diligently to reach a broad Sudanese civil consensus on ways to end the war and build peace in Sudan.
The coalition added in a statement today that it hopes the international ministerial meeting on Sudan will yield practical results that address the scale of current challenges and pave the way for concrete steps that meet the aspirations of broad sectors of the Sudanese people, which the coalition summarized as follows:
1. Coordinating efforts to establish an immediate and unconditional humanitarian ceasefire throughout the country, accompanied by national, regional, and international monitoring mechanisms, as well as serious measures to protect civilians and the implementation of mechanisms ensuring that humanitarian aid reaches all those in need without obstruction or control by any of the warring parties, while providing the necessary resources to bridge the funding gap for humanitarian response plans.
2. Placing the humanitarian ceasefire within the context of reaching a more comprehensive political solution that addresses the root causes of the crisis, leads to the strengthening of the country’s unity and sovereignty, and establishes a just and sustainable peace, with the peace process consisting of three tracks: the humanitarian track, the ceasefire, and political dialogue, with these tracks proceeding simultaneously and in an integrated manner within a single process under coordinated and unified mediation and facilitation.
3. Emphasizing that there is no military solution to the conflict in Sudan, and that Sudan’s future must be determined by its people through a genuine democratic civilian transition that ends decades of military rule in Sudan and responds to the demands expressed by Sudanese people during the glorious December Revolution to end the hijacking of the state by the terrorist National Congress Party/Islamic Movement regime.
4. Support the principles outlined in the Quartet’s roadmap announced in the September 12, 2025, statement, which align with the aspirations of broad sectors of the Sudanese people, and coordinate between the Quartet, the Quintet, and all regional and international initiatives to ensure a single umbrella facilitating and coordinating the peace process in Sudan.
5. Strengthening the efforts of the Independent Fact-Finding Commission established by the Human Rights Council to ensure that all crimes and violations are documented, immediately halted, and those responsible held accountable, as justice is a fundamental prerequisite for achieving sustainable peace.
The statement read: “We express our deep appreciation to Germany, the African Union, the European Union, the United Kingdom, France, and the United States of America, who took the initiative to organize this conference; to the Quintet, which facilitated the convening of the Sudanese Civil and Political Meeting; and to all the countries participating in the conference. We hope that all national and international efforts will converge so that this third anniversary of the outbreak of the criminal war in Sudan will be the last, and that this year will be the year in which the sound of guns falls silent throughout Sudan, to be replaced by a just and sustainable peace that ends the prolonged suffering of the Sudanese people”.
