Khartoum: Rhino – The Sudanese National Human Rights Observatory condemned what it described as a marked escalation in the use of drones and military aircraft in the states of Kordofan and Darfur, where local sources reported that a number of these attacks targeted areas populated by civilians, according to the Observatory.
The Observatory added in a statement today: “This comes within the broader context of violations witnessed in these areas in recent times, which have included killings and persecutions based on suspicion of affiliation with what is locally referred to as the Rapid Support Forces’ strongholds, or according to social and ethnic criteria referred to in local discourse as the ‘Western Faces Law.’
