Police Officer Killed and Another Wounded in Al-Jabalain by Members of the Joint Forces

Rhino: Follow-up – Police Assistant Ahmed Mohamed Al-Ajab died from his injuries after being shot inside the Al-Jabalain Traffic Police Station this afternoon following a dispute with members of the Joint Forces. Police Sergeant Ramadan Mohamed Khalifa was also injured.

According to eyewitnesses who spoke to the press, the details of the attack stem from three members of the Joint Forces entering the Al-Jabalain Traffic Police Station in a Tundra vehicle around 3:00 p.m. today to inquire about the owner of a car vehicle with whom they had gotten into a fight yesterday following a traffic accident involving their vehicle; they had beaten him and handed him over to the Al-Jabalain Traffic Police Station. A report was filed on behalf of the car driver, and after the prosecutor’s office questioned him, he was released.

When the Joint Forces members were informed by the Al-Jabalain Public Prosecutor’s Office that the Dvar driver had been released, they engaged in heated arguments with traffic police officers, objecting to his release, before one of them fired a shot at Sergeant Ramadan Muhammad Khalifa, wounding him in the leg, and then wounded Assistant Ahmed Muhammad Al-Ajab, fracturing his right.

Following an urgent intervention by military intelligence personnel from the 70th Infantry Brigade headquarters adjacent to the traffic building—after they heard the gunshot—the situation was brought under control, They managed to subdue the members of the joint force, prevent one of them from detonating a Kornet missile, and then escorted them to the brigade headquarters before transferring them to the division headquarters in the city of Kosti.

The injured were transported to Al-Jabalain Hospital to receive first aid to stop the bleeding. They were then transferred to the city of Rabak after Assistant Ahmed continued to bleed despite receiving five units of blood; however, he passed away inside the ambulance halfway to the city of Rabak. The other injured person arrived to receive treatment, and his condition was described as stable”
