Khartoum International Airport received two private planes coming from Cairo in the first international arrival since the airport was suspended in April 2023. According to information from an open-source intelligence analyst, the first plane was a Hawker 800XP belonging to a private entity in South Africa. The second plane, a Gulfstream IV, is linked to an entity affiliated with the Turkish intelligence agency.
The arrival of the two aircraft was preceded by an announcement by the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs that Minister Badr Abdel Aty had discussed the latest developments in Sudan with his Turkish counterpart Hakan Fidan. The regimes in Egypt and Turkey have been directly supporting the Sudanese army in its ongoing war with the Rapid Support Forces since mid-April 2023.
