Press statement regarding the situation of oil fields in Heglig region
The Sudan Founding Alliance (TASIS) reassures all Sudanese, the brotherly people of South Sudan, and the world, especially foreign and local companies operating in the petroleum sector, of (TASIS) forces’ full commitment to secure all oil facilities in Heglig region, including transmission lines and other facilities, and to form a special force to protect petroleum and oil facilities.
The Alliance affirms that its forces will allow all engineers and workers in the Heglig field to carry out the necessary maintenance work without any obstacles, thereby contributing to the continuation of full production operations.
The Alliance affirms that it will make every effort to protect civilians, secure grazing routes for nomads and pastoralist tribes, and facilitate trade and transport, thereby contributing to enhance security and social stability in the region, which has a population that overlaps with that of the sister state of South Sudan.
