The Islamic Movement Army commits a massacre against students in the Kumo area of the Nuba Mountains
Continuing its wave of racist attacks, the terrorist Islamic Movement Army launched an attack on the Kumo area in South Kordofan/Nuba Mountains on Saturday morning, November 29, 2025, using a drone.
The attack resulted in 45 martyrs, most of them school students, and more than eight citizens seriously injured, including women and children.
The Sudan People’s Liberation Movement-North condemns in the strongest terms the systematic and continuous targeting of school students and unarmed citizens. This is not the first time, nor will it be the last, that the Islamic Movement’s army has targeted students, children, and women in areas controlled by the SPLM. It has previously committed other massacres against students at the Al-Hedra School and children in Heiban, Nuba Mountains.
The Sudan People’s Liberation Movement-North affirms that it will not stand idly by but will respond with force and in full measure to destroy the terrorist Islamic movement, as it has struggled for more than four decades and continues to do so to achieve the hopes and aspirations of the marginalized Sudanese peoples for freedom, justice, and equality.
