Senior Advisor to the US President for Arab and African Affairs Musad Paules
Rhino: Agencies – Senior White House Advisor for Arab and African Affairs Masad Pauls emphasized on Friday the need to establish a civilian government independent of the current conflicting parties in Sudan.
Pauls added in an exclusive interview with Sky News Arabia: “The future of Sudan must be decided by the Sudanese themselves. The solution must be Sudanese and come from the people, bringing together all factions, parties, and civil bodies.”
He continued: “The issue of the Muslim Brotherhood in Sudan is a red line for the United States and the Quartet, and we clearly stated this in the Quartet’s statement. We reject any role for the Muslim Brotherhood, members of the former regime, and Iran in Sudan.”
He added: “The deterioration of the security, military, and humanitarian situation in Sudan is deeply regrettable. President Donald Trump has called for immediate action with partners in the Quartet and other allies such as Qatar and Turkey to find a solution.”
He noted that the Quartet is seeking to address the humanitarian situation and transition to civilian rule in Sudan, adding: “We call on the parties to the conflict in Sudan to accept a humanitarian truce immediately and without preconditions.”
