Nyala: Rhino – The Sudan Founding alliance welcomed on Sunday US President Donald Trump’s decision to form a Peace Council, announced during the Davos Forum, with membership from many countries around the world. The coalition said in a statement that achieving peace must involve confronting terrorism and drying up its sources, the most important of which are religious extremism, racism, and hatred.
US President Donald Trump officially launched the “Peace Council” at the World Economic Forum in Davos, with the participation of 21 out of 35 countries that agreed to join.
The statement said: “What Sudan has been witnessing since the Muslim Brotherhood seized power in a military coup in 1989, and then gave a false religious character to the war in the south, declared jihad, trained jihadists, and labeled our brothers and sisters in South Sudan as infidels, is the clearest example of this extremism, radicalism, and lies in the name of religion.
These terrorists did not stop after completing their takeover and control of the army by separating the south and dividing Sudan into two countries. Rather, they ignited the war in Darfur with the same extremism and radicalism, with racist and tribal claims, and spread the fire of strife between the tribes of Darfur and their various components.
The statement added: “The journey of resistance by Sudanese men and women against these jihadist terrorists, their army, and their security battalions has been long, taking many forms of civil resistance, professional and labor strikes, and armed struggle for rights, the removal of injustice, and the achievement of justice.
The resistance reached its peak in the glorious December 2018 revolution, and the revolutionary forces united against these terrorists, but their plans against Sudan and its people were extensive. and took many forms until their army ignited this war, and they returned once again to use the weapons of racism, tribalism, extremism, and lies to continue their war against Sudan and its people, only to return to the power they had lost.
The statement continued: “We have previously welcomed the US-sponsored Quartet initiative, which, for the first time during this war, has openly declared a strong position against these terrorists, making it clear that the future of Sudan should not be left to terrorist groups linked to the Muslim Brotherhood. The US administration also made clear, for the first time since the start of the war, it’s clear position on the dissolved National Congress Party regime and the terrorist Muslim Brotherhood organization).
It added: “Confronting this terrorist organization and its criminal army with force, subjugating it to the will of peace, confronting it politically and diplomatically, and confronting its supporters, both overt and covert—even within the Quartet Initiative—is the way to achieve peace in Sudan. We call on all international and regional organizations to take the same firm stance against these criminal terrorists, to end the suffering of the Sudanese people and put an end to this war).
