Raino: Follow-up – The Civil Democratic Coalition of Revolutionary Forces “Sumoud” condemned the airstrikes that eyewitnesses reported were carried out by Egyptian warplanes on Saturday, October 10, 2026, on the Al-Aqidat mine, near the Al-Ansari Market in Red Sea State, within Sudanese territory near the border with Egypt, resulting in deaths, injuries, and the flight of hundreds of miners.
The coalition held the leadership of the authorities appointed by the armed forces responsible for what is happening in these areas under their control, adding in a statement today: “Targeting civilians and endangering their lives is unacceptable and cannot be justified by any security pretexts.”
The statement called on the de facto authority not to remain silent, as it did regarding previous airstrikes, and to issue a clear statement regarding what happened—especially since it frequently invokes slogans of sovereignty and uses them as a justification for prolonging the war that is devastating the people of Sudan.
The Sumoud Coalition called for an urgent and independent investigation into these airstrikes, for measures to be taken to protect the miners and provide medical care and assistance to those affected, and to ensure that such violations do not recur.
